Jerusalem- Ramallah-Jericho

By: Nisreen Alshawa

These images are talking a bout :-
Checkpoint crossing between Jerusalem and Ramallah, the capital of Palestine,
On the other side of the wall: main street in Ramallah, surprisingly busy and economically active,
Israeli military vehicle - ideal for bulldozing buildings. Israel spends about 20% of its budget on the military,
Steel and concrete to separate Palestinians and Israelis,
I finally reached the old city of Jerusalem after the 6 hour border delays,
Church of the Holy Sepulcher, a symbolic place for Christians. Crusaders conquered the city in 1099,
The Arab Quarter of Jerusalem is a maze of tight, narrow streets,
Economically active and bustling in the day, but dead at night,
A common sight - two young Israeli soldiers out of uniform casually stroll the streets with powerful firearms slung over their shoulders,
and about Jerusalem, Jerusalem is an intensely powerful and holy city for Muslims, Christians and Jews. Historically Jews and Muslims lived here relatively peacefully for centuries until mass Jewish migration from the start of the twentieth century..
